Patty and Ray were married well over 50 years, they were childhood sweethearts.
Patti had a heart the size of a watermelon and would give you the shirt off her back. She was always there for those she was close to. She loved deeply and was a loyal friend. She was always the first to send out get well cards to those she cared about when they were suffering an illness and sympathy cards when someone had a loss.
Back when everyone made their Show curtains hers were always “top show”. She was very creative and an excellent seamstress.
Patti and Ray were head of the Rosette committee for Malibu Cat Club for over a decade. They have been members for 26 years. Patti had a great love for Malibu as a club. She was Malibu Club Treasurer for over 20 years and was Vice President for the last 6 years.
Our hearts go out to Ray for his loss. Patti will be sorely missed by the Malibu membership, and the CFA Cat Fancy as a whole.
Chuck was a decorated Marine. He was quite the “hoofer” in his day. A professional dancer, he was asked to be in a movie but couldn’t accept because the military wouldn’t grant him the leave.
Chuck exhibited Silver Persians in the early years. He was a member of the California Silver Fanciers’ Club and a member of Malibu for almost 40 years. Chuck held office in the club as both treasurer and secretary.
He was the “go to” guy. If you needed something done he would do it. He worked the door at the Malibu show for at least 30 years. He also took on hospitality; you could always see him running from one end of the showhall to the other. He made sure everything was taken care of. He was a man of his word and also a man that would not talk ill about anyone, ever.
Chuck you are missed by all of us in Malibu and everyone whose path you crossed. Rest in Peace.
